MEET Scott

A native Oklahoman, Scott Averill was born and raised in Tulsa, where he graduated from Edison High School. A full-service agent, he is familiar with residential, land, and ranch listings in Tulsa and surrounding rural areas of west Tulsa County, Northern Creek County and South Osage County, including Sand Springs, where he has lived for over 30 years.

Scott attended Tyler Junior College, Majoring in Farm and Ranch Management. He then obtained his CLEET Certification from the Oklahoma State Police Academy, which began his 31-year career in Law Enforcement with the Sand Springs Police Department. The bulk of this career was 20 years spent in the Detective Division, rising up through the ranks to the position of Captain, Division Commander over the Detective Division. The other 10 + years were in the Patrol Division.

After retiring from the Police Force, Scott was able to pursue his first love of ranching as the Equine Program Facilities Manager for the Tulsa Boys Home in Sand Springs, where he has worked managing a 34-horse facility for the last twelve years.

Scott’s love of working with people led him to the decision to join the real estate field. “I am fascinated with meeting and learning about people” Scott explains. “I have worked with people from every walk of life.”

His previous career in law enforcement taught him attention to detail and has given him the drive to see a project through. He brings these skills, along with his excellent communication and problem-solving experience to his buyers and sellers today. “My involvement and association with the farming and ranching aspects of rural Oklahoma help as well,” he says.

Scott is a member of the Oklahoma Fraternal Order of Police, Sand Springs Masonic Lodge #475, the Akdar Shrine of Tulsa, Tulsa Scottish Rite, the American Quarter Horse Association, and the Oklahoma Cattlemen’s Association.

When not selling real estate, Scott enjoys bass fishing, camping, or spending time in what he calls “another world” also known as Montana or Wyoming.
